How to start playing Cromon Quest
Starting Cromon Quest takes about five minutes and costs nothing: you need a crypto wallet that supports the Cronos network, a browser, and no download. Open quest.cromon.fun, connect your wallet, pick a Keeper name and accept the terms, and the game grants you three free starter Cromons: Kindlekin (Fire), Pladdle (Aqua) and Sproutara (Grass). That trio is a complete 3v3 team, so your first Arena battle is available immediately, and every other mode, from Expeditions to the daily Shadow Run maze, opens from the same dashboard. CRO only becomes relevant later, when you choose to mint new Cromons to grow the roster.
What do I need before I start?
A browser, and either a crypto wallet that supports the Cronos network (MetaMask, Trust Wallet and any WalletConnect-compatible wallet work; the connect flow proposes the network) or simply an email or social account, from which the connect window creates a wallet for you. You do not need any CRO to create your account or claim the starters, only to mint NFT Cromons later.
How do I create my account?
There is no account form: your wallet is your account, and if you do not have one yet the connect window creates it from an email address or a Google, X, Discord or GitHub login. The whole flow takes one screen:
- Hit "Play now", then pick a wallet, or sign in with an email or a social account to have one created for you.
- Sign the login message. It is free: a signature, not a transaction.
- Choose your Keeper name (your player name) and accept the terms.
- Your three starter Cromons land in your collection. Done.
What do the three starter Cromons do?
They are a real, playable team: Kindlekin brings Fire pressure, Pladdle holds the Aqua line and Sproutara covers Grass. Three types means you always have at least one favorable matchup to play around in the Arena.
What should I do first?
Fight one Arena battle to learn the rhythm, then let the idle modes work for you: send a Cromon on a 1-hour Expedition, assign miners in The Deeps, and run the daily Shadow Run before the midnight UTC reset. When a World Boss is live, your three free raid attacks add to the server total, whatever your level.
When should I spend anything?
Only when you want to grow. Starters carry modest stats by design: the day you want more, minting a Rift in CRO adds stronger NFT Cromons with published odds. Until then, everything above costs nothing with the team you were given. The game is free to start and stays playable without spending.
What are the starters, exactly?
Three in-game creatures, not NFTs: they are granted to your account when you finish the welcome screen, they cannot be traded or fed to the Forge, and they never leave your collection. Each has every stat at 8 on the 0 to 30 scale, which is enough to win early Arena fights against other starter teams, to fill the first mine lane and to run a Common expedition. It is also the reason a first Rift feels like a step up: a Basic Rift rolls each stat between 3 and 24, a Premium one between 13 and 28.
What does a good first week look like?
Day one: one Arena fight, a free 1-hour Common expedition (they cost no Aether), and the three starters on the first lanes of Fire Gorge in The Deeps, where lane 1 is free and the mine keeps digging while you are away. Check the three daily quests on the dashboard each morning: completing all three pays a bundle of 150 Shards and 8 CroCoin, more on a streak. Run the Easy 30 by 30 Shadow Run once you know the fight rhythm, and bank before the midnight UTC reset. By mid-week you will have the Shards for the first Camp upgrades, an Expedition Hall slot being the best first buy. Level 6 and level 16 are the two thresholds to watch: they move you up an expedition rank, and richer offers follow.
