Cromon fusion guide: forge three into one

Fusion in Cromon Quest turns three Cromons of the same species and rarity into one stronger Cromon of that same species and rarity, in a single on-chain transaction on Cronos that burns the sources and mints the result. The fee is 10 CRO per fusion. The result keeps the stats of the base Cromon you pick and gains 6 points across its six visible stats plus 1 on each of its two reserved stats: Cromons are forged, never evolved. The Cromite stat boosts you mined onto the sources are not lost either: the base Cromon's boost levels carry onto the result and the remaining boost value is refunded. Fusing well is mostly an economic question. This guide covers when it is worth the fee, the boost mechanics, and how to farm duplicates efficiently.

The Fusion Forge screen for a Rare Wind Tempestrike group: two Fuel slots around a Pick main slot, then the three owned copies with their stats, the best one reading HP 24, Attack 26, Defense 21, Speed 29, Critical 25 and Resolve 28, and the third tagged Mine because it is digging in The Deeps.
Choose the one to keep: the base's stats are what the result is built on, so the strongest copy goes in the crown slot.

When is fusing actually worth it?

When depth stops paying. Early on, three separate Cromons beat one strong one: they staff Expeditions, mine lanes in The Deeps and fill your Arena bench. Fuse once a species stops earning its three roster slots, or when a stat gate, like the deep mine lanes, demands a quality your quantity cannot meet. And weigh the 10 CRO fee: a fusion is worth it when the single stronger Cromon is worth more to you than three mid ones plus the fee.

What exactly happens to my Cromite boosts?

The Cromon you pick as the base sets the baseline: its boost levels ride onto the forged Cromon. The boost value sitting on the two consumed duplicates comes back to you as refunded Cromite material, priced along the same curve you paid. In practice: mine your main copy without fear, and do not bother boosting duplicates you intend to feed the Forge.

How do I farm duplicates?

Two sources. Rift minting is the main one: the Common and Uncommon pools hold 36 species each against 28 Rare, 13 Epic and 7 Legendary, so Basic Rifts produce natural duplicates over time. The marketplace is the targeted one: you can buy the exact third copy you are missing instead of rolling for it. Check a species' page, like Kindlekin's, before you commit.

Common mistakes to avoid

  • Fusing your only strong PvP team into one fighter right before a World Boss event. Raids want a full trio.
  • Boosting all three copies. Only the base Cromon's levels carry; the rest is refunded, not multiplied.
  • Forgetting that fusion is permanent. The transaction burns the sources on-chain, so triple-check which tokens you feed the Forge.

Which copy should be the base?

The one with the highest stats, every time. The result is built on the base's stats plus the fusion bonus: 6 points spread across the six visible stats and 1 point on each of the two reserved stats, every stat capped at 30. The two fuels contribute nothing but their presence, so their stats vanish with them. The Forge shows each copy's perfection score, the sum of its visible stats against the 180 maximum, which is the number to compare. Two more rules shape the pick: the visible pool shrinks by one point for each stat already at the cap beyond the first, so a nearly maxed base gains less, and a copy that is busy, digging in a mine, away on an expedition, locked in a Pit crew, exploring the maze or listed on the marketplace, is shown as unavailable until you recall it. All three tokens are burned and the result is minted as a new token, so the base's token number changes; its species, rarity and element do not.

How does the Cromite refund really work?

Along a cost curve, not level for level. Each Cromite level on a stat costs more than the last, so three copies at +3 did not cost what one copy at +9 costs: summing the levels would create value out of nothing. Instead the base keeps its levels and its spent Cromite as they are, and the Cromite spent on the two fuels becomes a per-stat budget that buys the next levels on the result at the curve's real price, up to the +10 cap. Whatever the budget cannot afford comes back to your inventory as typed Cromite. Neutral Cromite, the kind the daily mine quest pays, is worth half as much on the curve because a neutral boost costs 2 times the typed price. The practical rule stands: boost the copy you will keep, and keep the fuels bare.
