Rewards in Cromon Quest: every source and every sink
Cromon Quest, the creature-collection RPG on Cronos, pays its Keepers in things that stay inside the game: Shards and CroCoin, the two currencies every mode drops; Cromite, a permanent +1 to one stat; Shadow, Light and Pearl orbs from the mazes; Pit Embers from the Pit; and XP, capped at 1,500 a day. None of it can be withdrawn or converted to CRO: they are spent on the Camp's nine buildings, the Dojo, the shop and the mines. The only thing with value outside the game is a Cromon NFT, sold to another Keeper on the marketplace. This page lists every source with its numbers, from a 20 to 40 Shard Arena win to the 1,200 Shards, 75 CroCoin and 1,500 XP of a slain World Boss, and every sink, so you can see where a week's play goes.
What does each mode pay?
| Source | Shards and CroCoin | XP and other |
|---|---|---|
| Arena | A win pays 20 to 40 Shards, scaled by the rating gap (0.7 to 1.4) and diminishing after the 5th battle of the day, losses counted (60%, then 30% past 10, 10% past 20); a loss pays 7 Shards. Defending pays nothing. | 9 to 12 XP per win, 2 to 4 per loss. |
| Expeditions | By tier: 10 to 16 Shards for a Common hour, up to 350 to 500 Shards and 25 to 45 CroCoin for a Legendary day, +5% for a type match and +5% for the stat bar. | No XP. A Cromite drop per Cromon at 0.05% (Common) to 2% (Legendary). |
| World Boss | Community tiers at 10 to 100% of the boss's HP, 150 Shards at First Blood to 1,200 Shards and 75 CroCoin at Slain; podium 500, 300 and 200 Shards with 25, 15 and 10 CroCoin. | 20 XP per attack; 200, 500 and 1,500 XP at three tiers; two 48-hour boosts and 2 neutral Cromite along the ladder. |
| Shadow Run (daily) | Loot piles and fights, banked at the exit: on Difficult, 106 to 195 Shard bags of 6 to 26 Shards each, up to a run cap of 3,600 Shards and 400 CroCoin; a tier-1 kill 6 to 11 Shards, the boss 190 to 260 Shards and 12 to 16 CroCoin; the Tricolor Vault 400 Shards and 20 CroCoin. | 2, 6 and 12 XP per kill by tier, 9 for a Shadow Mirror, 45 for the boss; Shadow and Light orbs; consumables. |
| The Deeps | Nothing: ore stays in the mine. | 27 Cromite per mine (18 typed at lanes and obstacles, 9 neutral at 100%), plus a daily claim of neutral Cromite once the mine is complete. |
| Weekly Mine | Personal score tiers from 100 Shards and 2 CroCoin to 2,000 Shards and 55 CroCoin at the summit; podium 600, 350 and 200 Shards with 120, 60 and 30 CroCoin. | 100 to 3,000 XP per tier, uncapped; up to 5 Cromite per tier. |
| The Pit | 26 depth milestones banked once per Pit (a Pit every other week), 10,550 Shards and 443 CroCoin for the whole ladder to floor 55; podium 500, 1,300 and 550 Shards with 280, 140 and 70 CroCoin; the top 3 also win a free NFT mint (Ultra, Ultra, Premium) and 3 Premium free mints are drawn among the draw tickets, one ticket per floor 10, 20, 30, 40 and 50 reached, once per Pit. | 30 + 10 × floor XP per won wave; 13 Pit Embers over the ladder, 1 for the winner. |
| Daily quests | Completing all three of the day pays a bundle of 150 Shards and 8 CroCoin, times 1.25 from a 7-day streak and 1.5 from 30 days. Single quests pay nothing. | Reroll a quest for 5 CroCoin. |
| Referral | 200 Shards and 20 CroCoin to the recruit at the link; 800 Shards and 80 CroCoin to the referrer once the recruit has minted three Cromons from paid Rifts. | A free mint for the referrer, queued at the same moment and credited within 24 hours. |
| Achievements and onboarding | A gold achievement pays 200 Shards, a platinum 20 CroCoin; joining grants 100 Shards, 2 CroCoin and 10 Aether once. | A silver achievement pays 75 XP, a diamond a title. |
Two things pay nothing that people expect to: logging in and minting: each only moves a daily quest or an achievement counter. Holders of a partner avatar such as Robin get +5% on Arena and expedition payouts, and Robin holders who keep the avatar equipped for seven days open a weekly chest of 250 to 1,500 Shards.
Where do Shards and CroCoin go?
| Sink | What it costs |
|---|---|
| Camp buildings | Expedition Hall levels 2 to 4 at 1,000, 5,000 and 20,000 Shards plus 100, 500 and 2,000 CroCoin; Aether Reactor from 1,000 to 25,000 Shards a level; Aether Conduit from 1,000 to 100,000 Shards a level (268,500 Shards and 16,200 CroCoin for all ten); the three maze buildings paid in Shadow and Light orbs; the three Pit buildings from 1,500 to 45,000 Shards a level plus Pit Embers from level 2 or 3. |
| Dojo | Capsules at 1,500, 3,000 and 6,000 Shards; training to rank 2 for 3,000 Shards and rank 3 for 8,000. |
| Shop | 24-hour +10% boosts at 400 Shards (200 for Critical and Resolve), +20% at 80 CroCoin (60); Aether +5 for 30 CroCoin, a refill for 60; HP potions at 120 Shards, 12 and 30 CroCoin; a Cromite of any type 15 CroCoin; mine boosts from 45 to 400 CroCoin; Arena shields at 120 CroCoin a day or 600 a week. |
| Modes | Expedition refresh free once a day then 1, 2, 4 and 8 CroCoin; Pit flasks 400 and 800 Shards after the free one; a mine obstacle skipped for 10 CroCoin per remaining hour; maze merchants and oracles paid from the run's purse first; a daily quest reroll 5 CroCoin; a Keeper rename 1,000 CroCoin. |
Cromite has its own curve: the first three points of a stat cost one Cromite each, the next three cost three, the next three six, and the tenth costs twelve, 42 typed Cromite to max one stat, and neutral Cromite counts for half. There is no reset and no refund once applied, except through a fusion, where the fuels' Cromite comes back as a budget.
How do XP, levels and ranks work?
One curve for everything: the XP to reach a level is 35 times the previous level to the power of 1.9, so level 10 sits at 2,275 cumulative XP, level 20 at 9,412, level 30 at 21,019 and the cap of level 50 at 56,943, which at the daily cap of 1,500 takes at least 38 days. Arena fights, daily maze kills, Pit waves and World Boss attacks count against the daily cap; World Boss and Weekly Mine tiers, achievements, the Robin chest and weekly PvP damage do not. Expeditions, The Deeps, daily quests, minting and fusion pay no XP at all. The only thing your level changes is the expedition offer pool, through the rank bands Rookie 1 to 5, Keeper 6 to 15, Tamer 16 to 25, Explorer 26 to 35, Vanguard 36 to 45 and Chainmaster 46 to 50, plus the Veteran achievement at levels 5, 10, 25, 40 and 50: no stat, mode, building or shop item is gated by level. A separate prestige ladder, Initiate to Chainmaster, runs on achievement points.
What is on-chain, and what can be turned into CRO?
The Cromons themselves, their eight base stats (six visible, two reserved), the mint, the fusion and the marketplace escrow are on Cronos mainnet. Everything on this page is not: Shards, CroCoin, orbs, embers, Aether, XP, items, Cromite bonuses, buildings and techniques live in the game's ledger, and the ledger has no withdraw: nothing converts a balance into CRO. The one purchase that goes the other way is the CroCoin pack, bought on-chain for CRO (100 CroCoin for 30 CRO up to 2,500 for 500) and credited from the contract's event; there is no CRO to Shards path at all. So the honest summary of the economy is this: you spend CRO to mint at 20, 50 or 150 CRO, to fuse at 10 CRO, or to buy a Cromon from another Keeper; you spend Shards and CroCoin to make those Cromons stronger and your camp wider; and the only thing you can ever sell is a Cromon, on the marketplace, to someone who wants it. The free guide covers the three ways to a free mint, and the beginner guide puts the whole loop in order.
