The Weekly Mine

The Weekly Mine is a seven-day event inside The Deeps, the idle mining mode of Cromon Quest, the creature-collection RPG on Cronos. Each week a themed mine opens with its own ore and element, 3 themes in rotation, and up to 2 rule twists such as a week without robot miners or two surprise windows at 3x output. Every Keeper assigns Cromons to its lanes as in any mine, and everything they dig counts toward a personal score. That score unlocks reward tiers on its own, up to 10 of them, paid in Shards, CroCoin, Cromite and XP to anyone who crosses them, and the top 3 scores of the week take a podium with titles to equip. There is no entry fee and nothing to buy: free to start, with three starter Cromons that can dig from day one.

The Deeps hub of Cromon Quest, Choose your mine, with the mine cards Fire Gorge (ore Pyrith), Coral Hollow (ore Nautilyth) and Thornroot Grove (ore Sporyth), each showing its daily Cromite and a Claim button.
The weekly mine hangs off the same hub as the permanent ones: same lanes, same crew, seven days on the clock.

How does a weekly work?

  1. The mine opens on a fixed schedule, with a theme, an element, an ore and its twists frozen for the week. The beacon on The Deeps hub counts down to it.
  2. You muster a crew. Assign Cromons to lanes exactly as in a permanent mine. Typed lanes pay a bonus to a Cromon of the theme's element, so a matching roster digs faster.
  3. You reinvest. Ore buys deeper lanes and higher levels, and the score is cumulative production, so nothing you spend is ever lost from it. The Keepers who finish deepest are the ones who never sit on ore.
  4. The week closes. Scores freeze, the tiers you crossed are paid, the podium is settled, and the results stay readable for 72 hours before the next theme takes over.

What are the themes and the twists?

shadow · Noctyth
Umbral Chasm

A lightless rift where Noctyth pulses in the dark.

light · Solyth
Sunken Vault

A drowned reliquary whose Solyth still glows.

fire · Ashyth
Emberfall Rift

Falling embers harden into veins of raw Ashyth.

Up to 2 of these twists apply to a given week:

  • No robots. Purist week: robot miners cannot be assigned.
  • All lanes typed. Every lane is typed to the theme element (+15% with a matching Cromon).
  • Rush. Output x2 while you actively mine, but ZERO accrual while away (afk rate 0).
  • Gold rush. Two surprise 2h windows during the week at x3 output (times seeded at activation).

The twists are what make two weeks play differently with the same crew. A no-robots week rewards a deep roster of real Cromons; an all-typed week rewards having the right element, which is a reason to keep a Cinderwing around for Emberfall Rift and a Allisc for the Umbral Chasm; a rush week rewards being present, and a gold rush rewards being present at the right hour.

What does a week pay?

Two ladders, both personal. The score tiers pay on cumulative ore: the first of the 10 default tiers pays 100 Shards, 2 CroCoin and 100 XP, the last pays 2,000 Shards, 55 CroCoin, 5 Cromite and 3,000 XP. The lane tiers pay on how deep your lanes reach, 8 of them from lane 5 to lane 40. A week can carry anywhere from 3 to 12 tiers, frozen when it is created, so the live ladder is always on the event itself.

The podium sits on top: the 3 highest scores of the week add 600, 350 and 200 Shards, 120, 60 and 30 CroCoin, and the titles Depth Champion, Silver Digger and Bronze Digger, which stay equippable on your profile after the week is gone. The leaderboard is an hourly snapshot rather than a live feed, which is what keeps a lazy, idle mine honest: your ore accrues whether the board has refreshed or not.

How is it different from the permanent mines?

A permanent mine in The Deeps is a long investment: you unlock it, you level it over weeks, its Cromite is the point. The weekly is a sprint that resets: everyone starts at the same depth on the same day, the score is what you dug rather than what you own, and the reward is paid once, at the close. The mining skills transfer, which is what the mining guide teaches, but the pacing does not: a week tuned so that a regular Keeper reaches roughly lane 22 without a boost is a week where every idle hour is a decision.

Weekly Mine questions

What is the Weekly Mine?

A themed mine that opens inside The Deeps for seven days at a time. It has its own ore, its own element and up to 2 rule twists, and everything you dig there counts toward a personal score with 10 reward tiers and a three-Keeper podium. When the week ends, the mine closes and the next one is a different theme.

Do I need to be on the podium to win anything?

No. The tiers are personal: every Keeper who crosses a threshold gets that tier's Shards, CroCoin, Cromite and XP, whatever anyone else did. The podium is a bonus for the top 3 on top of their tiers, with a title to equip. Most of the rewards paid out in a week go to tiers, not to the podium.

What counts as my score?

Cumulative production: every unit of ore your crew has dug in the weekly mine since it opened. Spending ore on lanes and upgrades never lowers it, so the right play is to reinvest everything, all week. Hoarding ore only slows the digging that scores.

Are the leaderboard names all real Keepers?

Not all. A handful of seeded miners tagged "(echo)" fill the board early so the first day is not an empty list; they follow fixed curves, are clamped below the third real Keeper, and can never take a podium place. Every reward goes to a real Keeper.

Is there anything to pay?

No. Free to start: connect a wallet and receive three starter Cromons, then assign them to the weekly lanes like any other mine. The mine is the same for everyone; the only thing to bring is a crew and seven days of attention.

The next week is already scheduled

Free to start: connect your wallet, receive three starter Cromons, and put them on the weekly lanes the day it opens.
