Mint a Cromon: Rift tiers and odds

Minting is how new Cromons enter the world of Cromon Quest. You open a Rift on the Cronos blockchain, and about 30 seconds later a Cromon from the 120-species catalog is revealed and minted to your wallet as an ERC-721 NFT. Three Rift tiers set your odds: Basic, Premium and Ultra, each with published rarity percentages and stat ranges enforced by an on-chain commit-reveal scheme, so results cannot be predicted or re-rolled by anyone. You keep full ownership of everything you mint: battle with it, forge it stronger, or trade it. Paying is done in CRO, and joining the game itself costs nothing: every new Keeper starts with three free starter Cromons.

How the mint works

  1. 1

    Choose a Rift tier

Basic, Premium or Ultra. Higher tiers weight the odds toward Rare, Epic and Legendary Cromons.

  2. 2

    Commit on-chain

Your transaction locks the mint before anyone, including the team, can know the outcome.

  3. 3

    The reveal lands

A few Cronos blocks later the Rift opens: species, rarity and stats are revealed, all provably random.

  4. 4

    Your Cromon is yours

The NFT is minted straight to your wallet and appears in your collection, ready to battle or trade.

What do the stat ranges mean?

A Cromon carries six visible stats, HP, Attack, Defense, Speed, Critical and Resolve, plus two reserved ones held for later mechanics, each on a 30-point scale and written on-chain at the reveal. A Rift makes two independent rolls: the rarity, from the tier's published odds, then every stat inside the tier's band. A Basic Rift rolls each stat between 3 and 24, a Premium Rift between 13 and 28, an Ultra Rift between 20 and 30. The floor is what you buy: an Ultra Cromon cannot come out weak, whatever its rarity. Rarity sets how many Dojo techniques a Cromon can learn, 2 for a Common up to 5 for a Legendary, and its odds of a Cromite drop on expeditions, while the stats are what it does in a fight, which is why a Common from an Ultra Rift can out-fight an Uncommon from a Basic one.

Which tier should I open?

It depends on what the Cromon is for. A Basic Rift at 20 CRO is the cheapest way to fill the 120-species CromonScan and to farm the duplicates the Fusion Forge eats, and most of what it gives is Common or Uncommon. A Premium Rift at 50 CRO guarantees a floor of 13 per stat, which is a fighter you can field in the Arena straight away, with a 25% Rare and 12.5% Epic chance. An Ultra Rift at 150 CRO is the collector's roll: a 10% Legendary chance and a floor of 20, so even its Commons are endgame material. A Rift can be opened for up to 10 Cromons in one transaction, every 20 paid Ultra Rifts earn a free Ultra, and the three starter Cromons every Keeper receives on joining cost nothing.

What happens after the reveal?

The new Cromon appears in your Vault within a minute, with its number, species, rarity, element and the eight stats the contract wrote. From there it can enter the Arena, an expedition, a mine lane, the maze or the Pit right away, one activity at a time. A new species ticks your CromonScan toward the full 120; a duplicate of a species you already own is a step toward a fusion, which needs three of the same species and rarity. If it is not the one you wanted, the Marketplace lists it for another Keeper, with a 5% buyer fee and no seller commission, and the same market is the other way to get a specific Cromon: buy one whose stats you can read before paying instead of rolling for it. Mints also qualify the referral program: once you have minted three Cromons from paid Rifts, the friend who invited you earns 800 Shards, 80 CroCoin and a free mint.

Minting questions, answered

What does minting a Cromon cost?

Rifts are priced in CRO, the native token of Cronos. Basic Rift 20 CRO, Premium Rift 50 CRO, Ultra Rift 150 CRO. Higher tiers shift the odds toward rarer Cromons and stronger stat ranges.

What are the odds of minting a Legendary?

Odds are published per tier and enforced on-chain: 0.5% from a Basic Rift, 2.5% from a Premium Rift and 10% from an Ultra Rift.

Can I re-roll a mint I do not like?

No. The mint uses an on-chain commit-reveal scheme: the outcome is locked when you commit and revealed a few blocks later, so nobody, including the team, can peek or re-roll a result.

How long does a mint take?

About 30 seconds. Your transaction commits first, then the reveal lands a few Cronos blocks later and your new Cromon appears in your collection, ready to battle.

Do I own the Cromon I mint?

Yes. Every Cromon is an ERC-721 NFT minted to your wallet on Cronos. It is yours to play, trade on the marketplace or hold.
