Fusion Forge: merge three Cromons into one

The Fusion Forge turns duplicate Cromons into one stronger fighter. Feed it three Cromons of the same species and rarity and it forges them into a single Cromon of that same species and rarity with better stats: the result keeps the stats of the base Cromon you pick and gains 6 points placed one at a time on its lowest visible stats plus 1 on each of its two reserved stats, one NFT where there were three. The whole operation is a single wallet transaction on Cronos that costs 10 CRO, burning the sources and minting the result in one provable step. Any Cromite stat boosts you mined onto the sources are preserved or refunded rather than lost. Cromons are never evolved in Cromon Quest: they are forged. Free to start: new Keepers receive three starter Cromons, and every Rift mint brings the next fusion closer.

How the Forge works

  1. 1

    Collect three identical Cromons

Same species, same rarity. Rift mints and the marketplace are your sources.

  2. 2

Confirm the fusion in your wallet

One transaction on Cronos (10 CRO) burns the three sources and mints the stronger result.

  3. 3

    Boosts carry over

The base Cromon you pick keeps its Cromite levels on the result, and the duplicates' boost value comes back to you.

  4. 4

    Field your new fighter

The forged Cromon lands in your collection, ready for the Arena, raids and the Deeps.

The Fusion tab of the Cromon Vault in Cromon Quest, titled Merge 3 into 1 stronger, listing groups ready to fuse: Tempestrike, Rare Wind, 4 owned and 3 ready with one away in The Deeps; Blazebark, Uncommon Fire, 5 owned; Umbrawl, Epic Shadow, 3 owned.
The Forge groups your duplicates by species and rarity and tells you which are free to fuse and which are busy elsewhere.

How much does a fused Cromon gain?

Six bonus points placed one at a time on the lowest of its six visible stats, plus one point on each of its two reserved stats, per fusion, all written on-chain by the contract. Every stat is hard-capped at 30, and the visible pool shrinks by one point for each visible stat already at the cap beyond the first, so a Cromon that is nearly maxed gains less than a fresh one. The result is a new token that keeps the species number, the rarity and the element: fusion does not change what a Cromon is, only how strong it is, and it is the only way to raise the on-chain stats after the mint. A Cromon can be fused again with two more duplicates as long as it has room under the cap, which makes a common species you own many copies of the natural first project, and a Legendary you own three of the most valuable one.

What happens to Cromite boosts, and which Cromons can be fed?

The Cromon you keep carries its Cromite boost levels onto the result untouched. The two consumed duplicates give their Cromite back as a budget: it buys the next levels on the result's own boost curve at that curve's prices, and whatever the budget cannot afford is refunded to your inventory as Cromite, so nothing mined into a fuel is lost; the Dojo techniques of the two fuels, on the other hand, do not carry, only the base's do. The Forge only accepts Cromons that are free: one digging in a mine lane, away on an expedition, training at the Dojo, on your Arena defense team, locked in the Gauntlet, exploring the maze or sealed in a Pit descent is shown as busy in its group and has to be recalled first, and a copy listed on the Marketplace sits in the market's escrow, outside your Vault, until you cancel the listing. The fee is 10 CRO, paid in the same transaction that burns all three, the base included, and mints the new Cromon.

Where do the duplicates come from?

Two places. Rifts: a Basic Rift at 20 CRO is 45% Common, so a batch of them piles up the same species quickly, and the species is drawn uniformly among those of the rolled rarity. The Marketplace: when a group is one copy short, a listing of that species and rarity closes the gap, with a 5% buyer fee and no seller commission, and the stats of what you buy are readable before you pay. The Forge screen groups your Vault by species and rarity and shows how many copies you hold and how many are ready, so the shopping list writes itself. Every fusion is an on-chain event: the three burned token ids and the new one are visible on the Cronos block explorer, which is how a fused Cromon proves its history to a buyer later.

Fusion questions, answered

What do I need to fuse Cromons?

Three Cromons of the same species and the same rarity. The Forge consumes all three and mints one stronger Cromon of that species back to your wallet.

Is fusion the same as evolution?

No. Cromons never evolve: they are forged. Fusion trades quantity for quality within a species: the result keeps the same species and rarity and gains 6 points across its visible stats plus 1 on each reserved stat, capped at 30 per stat.

Does fusion happen on-chain, and what does it cost?

Yes. Fusion is a wallet transaction on Cronos that costs 10 CRO: the three source NFTs are burned and the stronger result is minted in the same operation, so ownership stays provable end to end.

What happens to Cromite boosts when I fuse?

Boosts survive. The base Cromon you pick keeps its boost levels on the fused result, and the value of the consumed duplicates' boosts comes back to you, so mining investment is never wasted.
