How to buy and sell Cromons
Cromons are traded on Cromon Quest's own marketplace, an escrow contract on Cronos. A seller lists a Cromon at a price in CRO and the token moves into the contract's escrow until it sells or the listing is cancelled; a buyer pays the price plus a 5% fee and receives the token in the same transaction, while the seller receives the full price with no commission. Cancelling within the first 72 hours costs 2% of the price; after that it is free. Every listing shows the Cromon's species, rarity, element, six visible stats and perfection score, so you read what you buy before you pay. The three starter Cromons cannot be listed, and a listed Cromon leaves your Vault until the sale or the cancellation. This guide covers the filters, the pricing and the checks.
How do I read a listing?
Start with the numbers that cannot lie. The six visible stats are the on-chain values of that token, and the perfection score sums them against the 180 maximum, so a 75% Cromon rolled better than most Premium Rifts and an Ultra floor sits at 67%. Rarity tells you how many Dojo techniques the Cromon can learn, 2 for a Common up to 5 for a Legendary, and its odds of a Cromite drop on expeditions; it does not change the stat band. Then use the filters: type and rarity, a price range, a perfection range, a search by name or token number, and the sort. The For you strip does the comparison for you: Fusion marks a listing that completes a trio of the same species and rarity you already hold two of, Upgrade a copy better than yours with the percentage, New a species you do not currently hold, Dupe a copy no better than one you already hold. The species page, Umbrawl for instance, adds the mint odds and the mine that favours its element.
How does buying work, step by step?
- Pick a listing and check the stats against what you need: a stat bar for an expedition, an element for a typed mine lane, a third copy for the Forge.
- Confirm the purchase in your wallet. The transaction pays the price plus the 5% fee to the contract, which releases the token to you and the price to the seller in the same operation.
- The Cromon appears in your Vault within a minute, ready for any mode, one activity at a time.
Keep a little CRO beyond the price for the fee and the gas. There is no bidding and no offers: a listing is a fixed price, first come first served.
How does selling work, and what does it cost?
Open the Cromon from your Vault, set a price in CRO and confirm: the token moves into the contract's escrow, which is what guarantees the buyer that the seller cannot vanish with both. From then on the Cromon is out of your Vault: it cannot fight, dig, fuse or go on an expedition until it sells or you cancel. A Cromon that is busy elsewhere, in a mine lane, on an expedition, in the maze, in a Pit crew or on your Arena defense team, has to finish or be recalled before it can be listed, and the three starters can never be listed. Selling costs nothing on the seller's side: you receive the full price. The only penalty is on a change of mind, 2% of the price if you cancel within 72 hours of listing, nothing after, which keeps the board from being flooded with listings that were never meant to sell.
How should I price a Cromon?
Against what it would cost to roll it. A Basic Rift is 20 CRO and rolls stats between 3 and 24, a Premium Rift 50 CRO between 13 and 28, an Ultra Rift 150 CRO between 20 and 30, so a listing is worth more than a Rift only when it removes the gamble: a high perfection score, a Legendary (a 10% chance even from an Ultra Rift), a species someone needs for a fusion or a CromonScan. Learned Dojo techniques follow the token to its new owner, and the card shows the on-chain stats only, so ask about boosts and techniques before paying a premium for them. The stats bar at the top of the market, floor price, 24-hour and 7-day volume and average sale, tells you where the board stands today, and the buyer sees the same bar. Remember the buyer's side of the arithmetic: they pay your price plus 5%.
What can go wrong?
- Listing your only strong team before a World Boss or a Pit week: a listed Cromon cannot fight.
- Cancelling on day one. Wait 72 hours and the cancellation is free.
- Buying on rarity alone. Two Legendaries can be 60 points apart; the perfection score is the number to compare.
- Forgetting the fee. A 5% buyer fee on top of the price, plus gas.
- Expecting the starters to sell. They are in-game creatures, not tokens, and cannot be listed.
The contract terms on this page are pinned to the Solidity by a test in the game's own suite, so if the marketplace changes, this guide changes with it.
